Crystal Pite, Mats Ek and Sylvie Guillem triumph at Olivier Awards

Choreographers Mats Ek and Crystal Pite and dancer Sylvie Guillem were among the artists honoured at the 2015 Laurence Olivier Awards ceremony on 12 April.

The Best New Dance Production award was shared by Mats Ek’s Juliet and Romeo by the Royal Swedish Ballet at Sadler’s Wells and Belgian collective Peeping Tom’s 32 Rue Vandenbranden at the Barbican, London.

Sadler’s Wells’ Associate Artist Crystal Pite won the Outstanding Achievement in Dance award for her choreography in A Picture of You Falling – presented as part of production The Associates – The Tempest Replica and Polaris at Sadler’s Wells.

Sylvie Guillem, also an Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells, collected a special award honouring her groundbreaking, 39-year performing career.
